Christmas in Huelva and province: the best plans for this Christmas season
Christmas is knocking on the door at AMA Residences Andalucía. Thanks to its location, its mild climate and its gastronomy, it is the ideal place to enjoy Christmas.
Huelva offers more than 300 days of sunshine a year, which allows you to make the most of the days and enjoy outdoor activities even on these winter dates, since the average temperature in winter is 12°C.
In addition, its wide and varied gastronomy will satisfy your palate with flavors such as Iberian ham, roasted chestnuts, seasonal mushrooms or the excellent fish and seafood offered by the Atlantic Ocean.
Christmas in Huelva is much more and has many plans in which you can enjoy a unique experience that brings together culture and tradition.
Until January 6, more than 200 cultural, commercial and leisure activities will make Huelva one of the most Christmas-like cities in the area, along with all those offered by the municipalities of the province.
Activities in Huelva capital
Plaza de las Monjas and Plaza de la Constitución will be the highlights of the festivities, hosting the now famous Christmas markets. These have local craft stalls decorated for Christmas and a wide gastronomic offer with local products, some of them seasonal as “polvorones” or “pestiños”, along with the usual Christmas tapas and local wine.
If you are a lover of nativity scenes, you can visit these representations from December 5 in the Patio Consistorial and Casa Colón, the latter set in the different churches of the city.
As for the cultural offerings, Huelva’s Gran Teatro and other cultural spaces will offer theatrical performances and concerts to show visitors the traditions of the city.
After its success last year, Huelva will once again have a mapping that mixes lights, music and 3D projections in the Plaza de la Merced for your enjoyment.
The little ones can also have fun this Christmas with an ice skating rink, located in the square of the old stadium, a tourist train with stops in Plaza Colón, the old stadium and Cabezas Rubias, or various craft workshops and Christmas decorations that will be located in the Estafeta de Correos, where they can also deposit their letters to Santa Claus or the Reyes Magos (Three Wise Men).
After the arrival of the Reyes Magos by boat on January 4 at the Canoas pier, Christmas will close on January 5 with the traditional Cabalgata de Reyes (Royal Cavalcade), one of the most multitudinous events of the season in which the illusion of the little ones stands out above all else.
This parade takes place in most of the towns of the province but below we highlight the most relevant activities for this Christmas.
